There are several theories as to why women live longer than men. This article covers a range of these theories which range from analysing epidemiological patterns to the effect of hormones on cellular processes. Introduction That women live longer than men is a scientifically accepted fact. There are a number of possible explanations for this fact and this essay will demonstrate that the main causes lie in the biological differences between men and women. In addition life style choices and environmental factors play their parts and not surprisingly, given the complexity of the human body, some factors remain undiscovered.
